Design and construction of 8,100 SF of retail space on the corner of 22nd & Harrison, in Tucson, Arizona. The construction team worked diligently with the architect, the engineers and the subcontractors to provide the most cost effective building system to the owner.
10,000 SF ground-up shell building for retail space and the immediate hardscape and vehicle parking. Work included mechanical, plumbing and electrical service to the building and connections to on-site utilities.

This project involved multiple tenant improvements throughout Arizona for this nationwide chain of popular, big-box furniture, home décor and appliance stores. Arizona locations varied in size from 30,000 SF to 60,000 SF.

After a demolition of the El Con Mall, projects ranged from renovation of a former department store to a new ground-up construction designed for restaurants and retail. The project included a drive-through for Panda Express; a 14,000 SF PetSmart, which included an animal clinic; fast-track completion of the 100,000 SF Burlington Coat Factory to meet the spring sales season; and a 13,000 SF Shoe Carnival. Design elements included metal deck roof, patio with planters and concrete seating, and entries with decorative stone and tile column wraps.

This RV park expansion, featured on local Tucson television commercials, included an exterior/civil/landscape package that transformed a parking lot into a camping facility. The project included walking paths, native vegetation and a water feature; a sales center modeled after an old Santa Fe town with a mezzanine children’s play area; and renovation of an existing dining room and meeting center, with hanging partition walls to create a multi-use area.

This project was a design-build effort to renovate the shopping center while ensuring that the businesses and offices remained open and customer access was maintained. Work included new storefronts, new deck surfaces, an exterior facade upgrade, a civil package of new drive entryways, paved walking areas, new restaurants and water features.
QuikTrip is a top-rated convenience/gasoline retail operation that focuses on key, high-volume locations across eleven states. Barker Contracting has constructed several QuikTrip stores in Tucson, including locations on Kolb, Grant and Craycroft roads, reflecting a strong relationship with a growing franchise.
This project included façade remodel and demolition of a former retail building, as well as tenant improvements for each of the three national tenants. Remodel work involved shell preparation for three new tenants and new demising partitions, separate electrical, water and gas service and sewer piping, for each. The existing fire riser was modified to provide individual fire sprinkler service and a new fire riser room with exterior access was provided. The interior existing CMU bearing wall toward the front of the space received new openings.

35,000 SF ground-up pre-engineered metal building. This project features office/show room and service bays with a storage mezzanine.
Complete revamp of the northeast corner of Broadway and Wilmot in Tucson, Arizona. Work included all new utilities, landscape, demolition and replacement of the parking lot. Two shell CMU, ground-up buildings included one 50,000 SF and one 25,0000 SF building. Two shell metal stud buildings, ground-up, one 14,000 SF and another 7,000 SF. Constructed a facade remodel for a 60 year old building and provided tenant improvements for multiple tenants.
